Quality specifications are written into each National Standard for a product. They
relate to physical requirements like strength, thickness, measurements, performance,
and freedom from holes.
Standards specifications require a statistical sample scheme which, if passed, mathematically
ensures a maximum potential number of defined faults per 100 units. This is called
an AQL (Acceptable Quality Level). Batches of product are rejected by the manufacturer
if the number of faults exceeds this number.
Each Standard Organization has varying requirements to be met. They arrange factory
inspections before granting a Certificate of Standards Conformity.
Ansell gloves - achieving standards, worldwide
Ansell gloves are used worldwide, so our gloves must conform to the most demanding
standards. We achieve this by building quality into the design and manufacture of
our gloves instead of relying on manual rejection of bad gloves at the testing stage.
While continually conforming to the generally specified AQL of 1.5. We offer a significantly
increased level of protection, from AQL 1.5 to AQL 0.065, and this is enjoyed by
health workers in 70 countries around the world.
Your Ansell glove distributor will also be able to answer any questions you may
have about glove standards and AQL.
