is one in a series of educational services provided by Ansell.
Upon completion of this educational activity, the learner should be able to:
- Discuss the variations of Viral Hepatitis.
- Identify the functions of the liver.
- Discuss the disease caused by each hepatitis virus (A-G and TTV).
- Describe the characteristics of good barrier protection of the different gloving
materials available.
The information contained in this self-study guidebook is intended for use by healthcare
professionals who are responsible for or involved in the following activities relating
to hand barrier protection:
- Educating healthcare personnel.
- Establishing institutional or departmental policies and procedures.
- Decision-making responsibilities for hand barrier products.
- Maintaining regulatory compliance; i.e., OSHA, ADA, and CDC.
- Managing employee health and infection control services.
This continuing nursing education activity has been accredited by the Association
of periOperative Registered Nurses, Inc. (AORN), an accredited approver by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation, for 2 contact
hours. The planning committee for this educational module consists of Registered
Nurses employed by Ansell with no conflict of interest in developing and writing
continuing education programs. This module is for the sole purpose of educating
and informing nurses of pertinent issues and is not an endorsement for any product.
Additionally, this continuing nursing education activity has been approved by the
Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc. for 2 CEs in the AST Category 1 for
continuing education in surgical technology.

AN 85% PASSING SCORE IS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION.

Allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing and issuance of certificate. Any learner who does
not successfully complete the post-test will be notified and given an opportunity
to resubmit for certification.
